ARTICLE 13: CLASS SIZE Revised November 2001
13.1 Class Size Limits: Class size in this District shall not exceed the limits
listed below except as covered in Section 13.2:
A. Self-Contained Kindergarten –Third * 25
*If funding from the State and/or Federal Government is no longer available,
or the District discontinues the program, the class size number will increase
to 30.
B. Self-Contained Fourth - Eighth Grade 30
C. Self-Contained Combination 26
D. Seventh and Eighth Departmentalized 30
E. Seventh and Eighth Departmentalized PE 36
F. Self-Contained Special Day Class 18
13.2 Recognition:
A. K - 8 Self-Contained
If a class exceeds the number listed above and is not adjusted within 15
working days from the day the student arrives, the teacher shall be recognized
with $150 per quarter or $200 per trimester for each student above class
size number listed in Article 13.1. The teacher shall apply to the Business
Office for the recognition money within 30 working days of eligibility for
the funds.
B. Departmentalized Grades 7 - 8
If a class exceeds the number listed above and is not adjusted within 15 working
days from the day the student arrives, the teacher shall be recognized with
$25 per period per quarter or $35 per trimester for each student above class
size number listed in Article 13.1. The teacher shall apply to the Business
Office for the recognition money within 30 working days of eligibility for
the funds.
