Barbara Dutra, Clerk

Barbara Dutra has been a member of the Board of Trustees for six years.  Her experience and common sense is extremely useful as a member of the Atwater School Board; she feels her duty is to be a leader in creating new ways to prosper in the future.  She feels that the basic duties of a school board member are to set policy, adopt curriculum and adopt and monitor the school budget which should reflect the priorities of the school board and the community.

Barbara and Frank, her husband of 44 years, have been in business in Atwater for 43 years, where she serves as office manager, salesperson, and general “Jack of All Trades”. They have three children and six grandchildren, all of whom have attended Atwater Schools.

Barbara is a graduate of Winton Elementary School and Atwater High School.  She is very active in the community:  past president of the Atwater Chamber of Commerce; past board member of St Anthony’s School; past Vice President of Atwater Women’s Club; past Corresponding Secretary of Soroptimist  International of Atwater, and Financial Secretary of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  She has also served on many Advisory Boards for both Atwater Elementary and Atwater High Schools and the Merced County School Board Association.
