Excel Projects Excel is an often unused component of the Microsoft Office Suite. Repurposing Excel to create tools which can be used across the curriculum throughout all grade levels has been a project of interest since November 2006. Below are links to examples of these tools. |
Mathematics:

Decimal Greater, Less Than, or Equal - randomly displays 2 decimal numbers which students then have to determine if the first number is greater than, less than, or equal to the second number.
Solve the Equation then Greater, Less than, or Equal - randomly displays 2 equations which need to first be solved then the student has to determine if the first answer is greater than, less than, or equal to the second answer. A modification requested by Ellen Maxwell.
Language Arts:
Mad Libs style activity - Enter words according to the part of speech to fill in a story.
Spelling Test with audio files - Open Court 3rd Grade Unit 5 story as an example.
Word Wall - Drag words in cells to create sentences.
