The community of Atwater is located in the central San Joaquin Valley halfway between San Francisco and Yosemite National Park, 340 miles north of Los Angeles, 90 miles east of San Francisco. This rural setting along highway 99 offers a pleasant lifestyle within easy reach of big city shopping and attractions.
Atwater enjoys a mild California climate ranging from hot summers to mild winters. Recreational opportunities abound including water sports in nearby lakes and winter sports in nearby mountains. The beach is only 1½ hours away. Access to professional sports include the San Francisco Giants and Forty-Niners, Oakland As and Raiders, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, and San Jose Sharks.

At the Castle Aviation Center, the Challenger Program and Aviation Challenge provide space and aviation related educational experiences.
Castle Aviation Center also houses one of the finest air museums in the country. Cultural attractions include the Bloss House and Park, The Merced County Museum, The Merced Multicultural Arts Center, the Merced Symphony, and The Center Stage Theater. From Fresno to San Francisco, world renowned theater, symphony, ballet, opera, jazz concerts and a wide array of other entertainment choices are within easy driving distance.
