School Resource Officer

Officer Evan Pitney

The following is a brief overview of the Atwater Police Department SRO program.  The mission of the Atwater Police Department SRO Program is the reduction and prevention of school based violence and the resulting crime by juveniles and young adults.  The SRO program attacks this mission by creating and maintaining safe, secure and orderly learning environments for students, teachers and staff.  As the SRO I will work towards establishing a trusting channel of communication with students, parents and teachers.   I will strive to be a positive role model to instill in students good moral standards, good judgment and discretion, respect for other students and a overall concern for the school community.  I will work towards promoting citizen awareness of the law to enable students to become better-informed and effective citizens, while empowering students with the knowledge of law and the counseling services available to help students and parents concerning problems they face as well as providing information on community resources available to them.

I look forward to working with students, teachers, staff, parents and anyone else interested in promoting a safe and secure learning environment for our students.

 Thank You,

 Officer E. Pitney, AESD SRO.
