From the desk of the Superintendent...

As many of you are aware, there have been cases of H1N1 flu reported in the Merced County area. We are working closely with the Center for Disease Control, the Public Health Department and the Merced County Office of Education to address these issues as they relate to our schools.

There is no reason for alarm at this time.

Strategies to lessen the impact of swine flu:

  1. Wash your hands regularly.
  2. Students and employees should stay at home if they are sick.
  3. Students and employees who become sick at school/work should go home (100 degree fever accompanied by cough, sore throat or congestion)
  4. Cover coughs.

We anticipate that the quick action taken to stem the spread of the H1N1 flu will prevent any dramatic, extensive spread of infection.  We will keep you informed from our office.

We are including the following documents for your information and the benefit of the community.
