Thomas Olaeta is a K-6 school serving approximately 482 students. In addition to nineteen regular education classes we have a special day class. Our well-maintained buildings and grounds, with roses blooming for much of the school year, are a source of pride for the entire school community. The John Dias Courtyard next to the cafeteria is a special place where the school community congregates during special events. At Thomas Olaeta, we are committed to providing an outstanding educational program for each one of our children. To accomplish that goal, we believe in building a strong partnership between home and school. |

Relentlessly Striving for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Thomas Olaeta is a K-6 school serving approximately 482 students. Opportunities for Parental Involvement

At Thomas Olaeta, we have a very active parent/teacher organization, which sponsors several events throughout the school year. These events include, but are not limited to, Family Movie Night, Family Reading Night, the twice a year Book Fair, etc. An English Learner Advisory Group and our School Site Council also provide meaningful opportunities for parental involvement. |

School Discipline Practices

At Thomas Olaeta Elementary School, we encourage and recognize students who demonstrate the pillars of Character Counts. Students who demonstrate good character are given business cards which are placed in a drawing. A monthly Pizza with the Principal is held for students whose cards are drawn. We also have a wonderful student council that arranges Spirit Days and organizes charitable fundraisers, such as Jump Rope for Heart (American Heart Association) and Penny Wars (Kops for Kids). |

School Facility
Conditions and Improvements
This section provides
information about the condition of the school's grounds, buildings, and
restrooms, and a description of any planned or recently completed facility
improvements.

For nine months out of the year, roses bloom at Thomas Olaeta School, highlighting an attractive, safe, clean environment for learning. Adequate buildings provide sufficient space to house services offered. The campus includes a spacious library and staff lounge. Facilities are maintained by an excellent custodial staff. Classrooms are cleaned every day. Gardeners maintain a wide variety of flowers, bushes, shrubs, and trees around campus. |
