Classroom Web Page Guidelines
November 3, 2006
1. Use common sense. The posting teacher is responsible for all page content and links.
2. All text, images, sounds, or links must be student friendly and directly related to school business or the classroom curriculum.
3. Contact information (e-mail link to the teacher) of the person maintaining the page and when it was last updated should be posted.
4. All required forms must be completed and on-file in the school office before posting a student's name, work, or picture.
5. The teacher is responsible for checking links on a regular basis. This needs to be done to make sure the link is not dead and that the content hasn't changed so as to be inappropriate for students of the Atwater Elementary School District.
6. The District reserves the right to edit the content and format of classroom web pages.
7. Personal beliefs and opinions are not to be expressed.
8. Commercial/political commentary or endorsements are not to be posted.
9. Remember that items on the Internet are protected by copyright. Make sure you have permission to use images, sounds, and other people’s content prior to posting things on a classroom web page.
10. If you have any questions about content in a classroom web page contact your site administrator or the District Technology Coordinator PRIOR to posting the page.
11. The Atwater Elementary School District encourages teachers to use a classroom web site. Classroom websites (e.g. the teacher posts information for use by students or parents of AESD) must be hosted by the Atwater Elementary School District and must follow the guidelines stated above. Please contact the AESD Technology Coordinator for additional information.
